The winery Mas Alta was established in 1998. Michel Vanhoutte with his Belgian partners, passionate about the wine world, they decide to start their own vineyards plantations in the Priorat with the advice of Michel Tardieu, winemaker at Côte-du-Rhone. An exciting project that leads them to develop four different wine types.
Els Pics 2011 has an bright cherry color with violet edging. Has an abundant and slow teardrop.
In nose has good aromatic intensity. It offers nice aroma with notes of ripe red and black fruit, also has light spicy notes that give a sexy touch. All in a toasted background with coffee hints.
When we taste this wine we find a fine entrance, with notes of ripe fruits. Round palate with light toasted notes and good tannins. Long with amazing ending, attractive.
I pair the 2011 Els Pics with grilled steak!
I enjoyed a lot with this wine, it’s fantastic with good value for money.
